As an assistant coach at the University of Portland and through his work with Rip City Tennis, Mathieu has sat on both sides of the recruiting table — evaluating recruits as a director, and helping players get discovered.
Recruiting Guidance
College coaches are evaluating far more than raw talent: tournament results, UTR, academics, and how a player communicates all factor in. We help players build a recruiting profile and highlight film, and help families understand what coaches are actually looking for at each level.
College Selection
The "best" program isn't the same for every player. We help families weigh level of play, team culture, academics, location, and roster needs so a player lands somewhere they'll actually thrive.
Scholarships
College tennis scholarships and financial aid vary widely by division and by school, and full scholarships are the exception rather than the rule. We help families understand realistically what different divisions and programs tend to offer.
Timelines
Recruiting effectively starts well before senior year. We help families understand what to be doing freshman through senior year — from early skill-building and tournament play, to reaching out to coaches, taking visits, and registering with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
